Terms of Use

By signing in to, or using, Raitu you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use Raitu, and at least 18 years old to buy a plan or a session pack. If you’re under 18, you may only use Raitu with a parent or guardian’s consent (see section 4).

Raitu generates AI sessions using voice narration, images, equations, and graphs, and checks your understanding along the way. Your first session is free with no account. Signing in starts a 2-month free trial: 20 sessions a month, PowerPoint uploads included, and no card needed. After the trial, sessions pause until you subscribe to Plus or buy a session pack. Plus is R249 a month for 20 sessions, and anyone with an account can buy a session pack: R149 for 10 sessions. Features and limits may change as we build.

We’re building Raitu in the open. If you were with us during the beta, thank you: your account has been moved to the 2-month free trial. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, and refunds follow our Refund Policy.

Paid plans and session packs are bought from your billing settings, paid by card or instant EFT. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Paystack. We never see or store your full card details. By buying a plan or a pack you agree to the terms of our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

• Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings.
• You must be at least 18 to buy a plan or a pack. You may not buy one for someone else without their permission.
• Refunds follow our Refund Policy: we refund billing errors and platform issues, but we don’t offer change-of-mind refunds. You can cancel anytime to stop the next renewal, and session packs are one-off purchases that stay valid for 36 months (three years) after purchase, the prepaid-credit floor in the Consumer Protection Act.
• If a payment is declined or reversed (for example, a chargeback), we may suspend your paid plan until it’s resolved.
• We may refuse or cancel a payment where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

• You need an account (Google or email) to use Raitu. It’s how your sessions and history follow you across devices.
• If you’re under 18, sign-up asks for a parent or guardian’s email, and we can’t start sessions on the account until they confirm their consent through the link we email them (POPIA sections 34–35). Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us, after which the account can no longer start sessions.
• You’re responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account.
• Anonymous visitors can try one session per device, tracked with a cookie; sign in to continue.
• You own the content you type, speak, and ask about, not us.

Sessions, figures, narration, and check-in questions are generated by AI. They are often right and sometimes wrong. You use Raitu to learn, and you should think critically about everything it says, the same way you would with any source. Where Raitu makes a mistake, ask about it. It will correct itself or explain differently.

AI-generated answers are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). Don’t rely on them for decisions that affect your safety or your rights.

By using Raitu you agree not to:

• Use Raitu for anything unlawful, harmful, or that violates the rights of others.
• Pretend to be someone else, or create accounts using fraudulent or misleading details.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service, or bypass any limits we set (including the anonymous-session limit).
• Upload or request content that is malicious, contains malware, or infects other devices.
• Use Raitu to generate content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit.
• Use Raitu’s outputs to train competing AI models or build a competing service.
• Resell or sublicense access to Raitu without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

The sessions you create are yours. By using Raitu, you grant us the limited licence needed to run the service: to store, process, and display your content (including your voice recordings and the figures in your sessions) so that we can generate, sync, and replay your sessions for you. We don’t use your content to train our own models or to sell to anyone.

You retain all rights to the materials you provide. Raitu-generated figures and session content are provided for your personal learning use.

Raitu, its name, logo, branding, and service design are owned by Emitserv Pty Ltd and its subsidiary Raitu, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use our marks or branding other than as part of your ordinary personal use of the service.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every session will be correct. Teaching is a conversation, not a guarantee.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Emitserv Pty Ltd and Raitu won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 that cannot lawfully be limited (including liability for gross negligence), or your statutory refund and cooling-off rights.

You can stop using Raitu at any time and delete individual sessions from your sidebar. To delete your whole account, email us at support@raitu.techand we’ll do it (including your tutoring session data). We can suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we’ll tell you by email or by a notice on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of South Africa. If you live outside South Africa, you may still have rights under the consumer laws of your country, which this clause doesn’t take away.
