Refund Policy

Raitu is currently free during beta. This policy describes how refunds work for the paid subscription plans once they launch. In short: ask within 14 days and we’ll refund you — no hoops, no drama. After that, refunds apply only in the limited situations below.

Last updated:

1. Paid plans

When paid plans launch, Raitu will offer monthly and annual subscriptions, both including everything Raitu offers today. An annual plan may be offered at a discount. All subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before it renews.

2. The 14-day refund window

If you buy a subscription and it isn’t for you, you can get a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date — whether it’s a monthly or an annual plan, and no matter how much you’ve used Raitu. Just contact us and we’ll refund the amount you paid to your original payment method.

We don’t ask questions. If you tell us why you’re leaving, we learn — but it’s optional and always appreciated, never required.

3. After 14 days — annual plans

After the 14-day window, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable (you can cancel and keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for).

For annual subscriptions cancelled after the 14-day window, we’ll refund the unused full months pro-rated. You keep access until the end of the month you’ve already paid for, and the remaining months are returned to your original payment method.

4. When refunds aren't available

Subscriptions are a service consumed over time, so after the 14-day window there are a few situations where a refund isn’t available:

  • Outside the window. Monthly plans are non-refundable after 14 days (you keep access until the period end). Annual plans are refundable only for unused full months pro-rated, as described above.
  • Breach of our Terms of Use. If an account is suspended or terminated for breaking our Terms of Use — for example abuse, fraud, or violating acceptable use — no refund applies for the remaining period. We’ll always tell you why.
  • Misuse of the refund policy. Refunds exist so a subscription can be tried without risk — not as a way to keep using Raitu for free. Where we see repeated refund-and-repurchase patterns on an account, we may decline the request. One refund per plan trial is standard.
  • Services already rendered. If you’ve used most of the period and simply changed your mind after the window, we can’t refund time that was already consumed. Cancelling is always available (it costs nothing and takes seconds).

This is a policy, not a limit on your rights. Nothing here overrides your statutory rights — including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 — for example when a service fails to meet its promise or is not rendered. Statutory refunds always take precedence over this policy.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings. After cancelling, you keep access to everything your plan includes until the end of the billing period you’ve paid for — no immediate cut-off, no partial-period charges, and no cancellation fees. If you cancel within the 14-day window, see section 2 above.

6. Renewal charges

If a subscription renews and you later contact us within 14 days of that renewal, we’ll refund the renewed amount. We’ll also always refund charges you can prove you never authorised.

7. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the payment method you used originally. How long that takes depends on the provider — typically a few business days for card payments. If you paid through a payment partner (for example, instant EFT or a digital wallet), it may take up to 10 business days.

If we can’t refund to the original payment method, we’ll work with you to find another way.

8. Exceptional circumstances

Raitu teaches with AI, and AI sometimes gets things wrong. If Raitu doesn’t work for you because of a service-wide failure — not a one-off mistake — and it's outside the 14-day window, contact us anyway. We review exceptional cases generously and prefer to err on the side of the learner.

9. Free beta and free trials

Raitu is free during beta, and we’re not running paid trials. If you used Raitu during the free beta, there’s nothing to refund — your access remains free until paid plans launch.

10. How to request a refund

Email us at support@raitu.tech or use our contact page with your account email address and the date of purchase. We’ll confirm within two working days and process the refund promptly.

This refund policy is part of our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We may update it as paid plans launch — significant changes will be announced here.
